I’m Jimmy Allen, adventurer, explorer, and founder of Outdoor Soul. A community that brings people of color together to experience the outdoors in a way that’s inclusive, empowering and transformative.
My journey began in 2005 after moving to Charlotte, North Carolina. A hike at Crowder’s Mountain sparked a passion that has since taken me across the globe, summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, exploring Machu Picchu, trekking Patagonia, and standing in the shadow of Mount Everest. Each adventure taught me that outdoor experiences are more than physical challenges, they’re opportunities for connection, growth and self discovery.
Through Outdoor Soul, I’ve created a space where the outdoors is accessible, inspiring, and full of diverse experiences. We go beyond hiking from backpacking, kayaking, and camping trips, to wellness retreats, and skill building workshops. All designed to help members confidently explore nature, connect with one another, and celebrate culture along the way.
This isn’t just an outdoors group. It’s a community where every adventure uplifts the spirit, strengthens bonds, and empowers members to challenge themselves and discover their best selves.
